Well even though its a great anime and one of my favorties after brandon became Grave I didn't like it as much but than again I havn't seen the last three episodes yet but I got the dvd today I'll watch it proabbly after finishing this post but I just found the mafia episodes so much more entertaining and engrossing. I thought the plot there was a little better than you know bob pundmax with his helicopter thing and bear with his um weird arm like thing but I did think lee made a cool superior well I guess I'll go watch the dvd now But I've beaten the game so I know what happens already I was just waiting for the whole series on ebay

I've written an article about this - but as always my ire was aimed at Koruda who, IMHO, didn't know dick about American mafioso-but why would anyone care right? Well, if you're basing your organization off something similar to Western crime families-then do your research. Just look at the cheestastic dialogue [not to be blamed on ADR writers Wyner/Freeman because I've seen the original feeds and they are just as stupid]. I my article I say, rather unpro of me but I had no choice- I mean really, Kuroda-sensei, would it have been too hard to sit down and watch the Soprano’s or better yet- Knockaround Guys to get a handle on how these men interact? Obviously the only thing he did was watch The Godfather- because Brad Vo is a total Sonny Corleone clone and Cannon Vulkan is his Michael. Nightow’s intent [so he claims] was to portray Gungrave as a strict Western-style concept criminal drama-he says he did not wish to render the Yakuza because it’s been done all ready.
Unfortunately no one told the writers this because what we get is this CosaNostra/Yakuza hybrid of strange actions and weird dialogue-culminating in mixed message-themes and odd social cues throughout Gungrave; Traditional Yakuza male interaction seeps through in almost every scene and rightly so, these writers are Japanese-yet if you’re going for a certain cultural portrayal you better do some damn research on the men you wish to portray. We know how Japanese criminals interact with one another-beyond the stereotypes…just watch any Beat Takahishi film; but damn, did anyone over there besides Nightow watch something more than the Godfather?----------------------------- So while I did enjoy the entire Gangster arc of Gungrave I still walked away with the feeling that the characters were poorly underdeveloped [over developed for Brandon and Harry] and left no explanation for binding ties to set up the sci-fi revenge arc that naturally followed. EDIT: Gee, a link would've been nice eh? www.gynocrat.com/elegant_madness/gg_info_scpt.htm

I'm surpised that Brandon never said that Harry framed him as a traitor. Also did anyone else notice that when they became superiors they were very sadistic?

Why justify yourself when you've done nothing wrong? In Brandon's eyes he didn't betray Millenion-but he did turn on Harry, it was catch-22 and Franken-Grave wasn't exactly known for his deep conversation. Gynocrat

Wow I finally saw the last three episodes and I thats one of the best endings ever but still I perfer the first half because the plot seems deeper (minus the last three episodes of the second hald) I thought episode 16-23 were pretty mindless sure there were a little bit of plot points everyonce i na while but nothing too big it was just a mindless shoot em up which I like as a game but not an anime
